Speed Queen Washer Set Up Information

Hoses – Attach fill hoses to faucets and the washer.

Place the drain hose in the drainpipe and secure it to a faucet or other non-moving object with a zip tie to keep the drain hose from coming out.

FloorSpeed Queens need a very solid floor. If it is not on a concrete slab, you might need to reinforce the floor under the washer and dryer with ¾” plywood screwed to the joists. If the house shakes or the washer is loud, the floor is often the problem.

Note: Speed Queens cannot be used on the 2nd floor or above in most cases.

Level the washer – Every Speed Queen washer must be leveled. Use a carpenter’s level to make sure it is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust the feet in or out as needed, then tighten the lock nuts on the legs.

For new machines: The front feet are screwed in for shipping. You must unscrew them and make sure the machine is level.

Feet – Install the rubber foot pads as you are leveling the machine.

Use less detergent – 2 Tbs is all you need unless the load is very soiled. More will damage the washer. We recommend liquid, powder, or sheet detergent, not pods.
